We just read this morning in the news that a young man posing as Oli online lured a girl to meet him and then kidnapped her and tried to kill her. This sort of thing is happening more and more (not just related to fake BMTH members) and really concerns us!

Fans need to remember that a lot of band members don’t even have their own facebook/twitter accounts etc, and those who do have a real account are usually not often open to chatting and/or meeting up with fans apart from at their concerts.

You should all remember a few simple key precautions.

• Don’t add randoms as “friends” on your social networking site
• If you really want to meet someone, ask them to Skype or live web chat to ensure they are the same person in real life as they say they are online

Just because a profile has multiple pictures of a band member up, does not mean that it is actually them who you are speaking to!
